NFL Betting Odds

The board above has the NFL betting odds for every game that hasn't kicked off, pulled from major sportsbooks. Each game gets a point spread, a moneyline and a total, and below that are first-quarter, first-half and team total lines. You can bet any of them here with a free balance.

Three numbers for every NFL game

Football bettors mostly argue about the point spread, so start there. The favorite carries a minus number, say -6.5, and has to win by 7 or more for a bet on it to cash. The underdog at +6.5 cashes if it wins or loses by 6 or fewer. Half points exist so a game can't land exactly on the number; with a whole number like -3, a three-point win is a push.

The moneyline drops the margin. You pick who wins, and the price does the balancing: favorites cost more than they pay, underdogs pay more than they cost. On our board everyone can bet moneylines up to -300. Full Access members can go as far as -1000.

The total, or over/under, is the oddsmakers' number for combined points. Betting the over on 44.5 means you need 45 or more from both teams together, and it doesn't matter who scores them.

A worked example

Say a game shows the home team -3 (-110), the road team +3 (-110), moneylines of -160 and +135, and a total of 47.5. A $110 bet on the home spread wins $100 if the home side wins by 4 or more. A $100 bet on the road moneyline wins $135 if the road team wins outright. And $110 on the under wins $100 if the final score adds up to 47 or less.

Quarter, half and team total lines

NFL games get more than full-game odds. The first-quarter lines and first-half lines work like the full-game ones, but only that part of the game counts. Team totals set an over/under for one team's points alone, which is handy when you like an offense but have no idea how the other side will play.

Then there's halftime. Second-half NFL lines post at the break and close after a short countdown, so you have a few minutes to bet the rest of the game with the first half already behind you. If you watch the games live, this is the tab to keep open.

When NFL betting lines move during the week

Our numbers update through the day as the sportsbooks move theirs. Injury news, weather and lopsided betting all push lines around, and the biggest jumps tend to come from a starting quarterback's status. A spread that opens at -3 early in the NFL week can sit at -4.5 by kickoff. The bet you place is graded at the odds you took, so getting a number early sometimes beats waiting, and sometimes it doesn't.

Every game locks for betting at kickoff. After that, only the halftime lines are left.

Questions and answers

How do Vegas odds work?

Odds here are American, the same style Las Vegas books use. A minus number like -110 is how much you risk to win $100; a plus number like +150 is how much a $100 bet wins. So -110 means $110 to win $100, and +150 means $100 wins $150.

Where do these NFL odds come from?

Our lines come from major sportsbooks and update through the day, so the board moves when the market does.

Can I bet NFL odds here without a deposit?

Yes. New players get a Free Bet Balance to bet with, and it refills once it runs out and your bets are graded. Free bets aren't real money, but every $100.00 of Free balance converts to $1.00 of Paid balance, or $2.00 with Full Access.

Do I have to be 21 to play?

Yes, you must be 21+ to play. If gambling is causing problems for you or someone you know, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
