College Football Odds

These are the college football odds for every game on the board that hasn't kicked off yet. Each game has a point spread, a moneyline and a total from major sportsbooks, plus first-quarter, first-half and team total lines, all updated through the day. You can bet every one of them with a free balance.

Reading a college football line

Here's a made-up game of the kind that turns up every Saturday:

  1. Spread: favorite -24.5 (-110), underdog +24.5 (-110)
  2. Moneyline: favorite -2500, underdog +1200
  3. Total: 58.5, over -110 and under -110

The spread says the favorite needs to win by 25 or more for a bet on them to pay. Take the underdog at +24.5 and you win if they lose by 24 or fewer, or win outright. At -110, a $110 bet wins $100 on either side.

The moneyline is just who wins, and here it's lopsided. You'd have to risk $2,500 to win $100 on the favorite, which is past our -300 limit (and the -1000 limit for Full Access), so you can't bet it here. The underdog at +1200 you can: $100 wins $1,200 if they pull it off.

The total is the final score added up. Over 58.5 needs 59 or more combined points, under needs 58 or fewer.

Why college lines look so different from the NFL

The NFL has 32 teams that are fairly close in talent. College football has a big gap between its top programs and the rest, and the odds reflect it: three-touchdown spreads are common, and moneylines on big favorites can run into the thousands. That's why so much college football betting happens on the spread and the total. They stay near -110 no matter how mismatched the teams are.

Totals swing more too, since college offenses and defenses range much wider than in the pros.

Quarters, halves and team totals

Every game here gets more than full-game lines. First-quarter college football lines and first-half lines grade on that part of the game only, which is useful when a heavy favorite tends to build its lead early. Team totals let you bet over or under one team's points.

When a game hits halftime, second-half lines post and stay open for a short countdown. Then they close and the second half plays out.

When college football odds move

Lines usually open early in the week and settle by kickoff. Injuries, quarterback news, weather and where the money is going all push them around, and a smaller-conference game can move more on less news than a game everyone's betting. A line can't move on you once you've placed the bet: it's graded at the odds you took.

Betting the board free

Choose a line, enter an amount from your Free Bet Balance and place it. Parlays are open on the same board if you want to combine games, as long as you're fine with every leg having to win. If you'd like an opinion first, our college football best bets from 100+ handicappers star-rate the sides most experts agree on.

The free balance is for practice and fun. Real cash comes from the Streak Contest, where you pick one game at a time and build a streak, and the Monthly Contest leaderboard, both of which pay cash prizes by PayPal.

Questions and answers

Do college football odds change?

Yes, all the time. Our lines come from major sportsbooks and update through the day, and they keep moving until the game locks for betting at kickoff.

Why can't I bet a huge favorite on the moneyline?

Everyone can bet moneylines up to -300 on our board. Full Access members can go up to -1000. Past that, bet the point spread instead, where even a big favorite is priced around -110.

Do I need money to bet college football here?

No. New players get a Free Bet Balance with no deposit, and it refills when it runs out and your bets are graded. Free bets aren't real money, but every $100.00 converts to $1.00 of Paid balance.

Who can play?
